Spread The Love Foundation
Promoting honest dialogue about suicide, addiction, and mental health.
A Message From Our Founder
“People always ask why. Why would a kid kill themselves? Why, when they had so much going for them?
Why, when they were so young?
Well, I’m here to tell you there is no answer to that. Suicide is not rational. There is no simple explanation.
We shouldn’t be asking why. We should be asking how. How can we make a change? How can we, as a community, prevent this from happening again? How can we talk to our children about this taboo subject? How can we get our schools involved?
This is a grassroots movement to educate children on how to live in the 21st century.”
– Carolyn Coburn, Director of Spread the Love Foundation

About Sami
Samantha Coburn tragically took her life on August 14, 2014, at the age of 19. Spread the Love was founded by her mother, Carolyn and her sister, Megan, in order to prevent other families from the horror of losing a loved one to suicide.
This video was taken less than two weeks prior to Samatha Coburn’s suicide. Loving, caring, and kind, Sami exhibited exceptional qualities. Sami is loved and missed by many, but through this program, her spirit lives on.
About Spread The Love
Spread the Love Foundation is dedicated to the prevention of teen suicide. We promote honest dialogue surrounding suicide, addiction, and mental illness so that adolescents will feel comfortable asking for the help they need. In addition, we train adults to recognize and act accordingly when a youth is struggling.
By supporting us, you are a stakeholder in our future and the future of our children, your donations help to prevent teen suicide.

Providing Mental Health Tools For Teachers and Students
Mental illness is so difficult to diagnose in children because they don’t have the words to express what they’re going through.
Even if they do attempt to communicate what they are feeling, adults often times view them as overly dramatic or attention-seeking.
However, our youth need attention now more than ever. Spread the Love has programs to bring to your school and community in order to raise awareness surrounding mental illness.
